For more than
50 years, the Western Behavioral
Sciences Institute (WBSI)
has devoted its efforts toward the betterment of society, the
strengthening of democracy and the enrichment of life for all.
In the pursuit of these goals, the institute is widely recognized
for its cutting edge programs in the fields of education and social
design, and its pioneering work in the formation of influential
communities of distinguished leaders.
The centerpiece of its programs is
the International Leadership Forum (ILF), a global
network of more than 80 of the worlds' top scholars, educators,
scientists, economists, journalists, philosophers, anthropologists,
psychologists, architects, designers, university presidents and
corporate leaders who deliberate via residential and online conferences
on the vital issues of our time. The wisdom generated in these
meetings is then communicated to policy makers and to the public.
Following in the tradition of its
ground-breaking School of Management and Strategic
Studies begun in 1981, and its history of creative research,
WBSI continues to design bold new approaches to
meet today's critical challenges.
Founded in 1958 in La Jolla, California,
WBSI is an independent, non-profit 501(c)3 organization supported
by foundations, government agencies, corporations and private
donations.
